Czech Dumpling Recipe
1 cup milk, 2 eggs at room temp - beat together
3 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
Sift these 3 ingredients together 3 times.
Combine liquid and dry ingredients and mix by hand in one direction.
Cube 5 slices of white bread (1/2" cubes). FOLD into dough. Let stand 25 minutes.
Flour a board and your hands. Knead the dough and shape into 2 loaves. They will be small.
Boil water 10-15 minutes before adding dumplings. Add dumplings and boil 10 minutes - keep covered. Remove lid, turn dumplings over, cover and boil another 10 minutes. The dumplings will have grown!
Remove immediately and slice with thread about 1/2" to 3/4" wide.
